Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with an unforgettable weekend on Bald Head Island! The America 250 Weekend, presented by the Old Baldy Foundation and the North Carolina Fourth of July Festival, features two days of special events concluding with the Fort George Block Party on September 6th.

Fort George Block Party | Sunday, September 6, 2026
The weekend’s signature event is the Fort George Block Party, a unique celebration set on the historic grounds of Fort George. Guests will enjoy tours of Old Baldy Lighthouse and Museum, a Southern barbecue picnic prepared by Southern Smoke, live music from DJ Fray, local craft beer and spirits, raffles, and a live reenactment of the Battle of Fort George. Getting to Bald Head Island is easy whether you’re coming from Southport, Wilmington, Raleigh, or anywhere else on the mainland. We’ve chartered a ferry to carry you across the Cape Fear River, the same passage British troops would have taken 250 years ago. *A short walk is required to get from the ferry to Old Baldy grounds*

Schedule of Events:
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM – Mainland ticket holders arrive to Deep Point Marina for ferry charter check-in
- 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM – Southern Smoke BBQ available
- 3:30 PM – Battle of Fort George Second Reenactment
- 5:45 PM – Event winds down and mainland guests return to the marina for ferry departure
Ferry Information for ticket holders traveling to Bald Head Island on the private charter:
- Charter Location – Deep Point Marina, 1301 Ferry Road, Southport, NC.
- Parking – Individuals are responsible for their own parking in the Deep Point Ferry lot.
- Arrival and Check-in Time – Arrive at Deep Point Marina by 12:30 PM on September 6 to receive your wristband.
- Terminal Location – Event volunteers will direct you to the dock terminal upon arrival. The exact dock location will be provided when you register in the second-floor lobby.
- On-Island Transport – Short walk from the ferry terminal to Old Baldy grounds.
- Event Departure – Return to Bald Head ferry terminal by 5:45 PM to board the 6:00 PM departure ferry.
