
America 250 Weekend on Bald Head Island | September 5–6, 2026
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a special weekend on Bald Head Island! Presented by the Old Baldy Foundation in partnership with the North Carolina Fourth of July Festival, America 250 Weekend features two days of history, entertainment, and family-friendly experiences in one of North Carolina’s most unique coastal settings.
Enjoy historic tours, museum exhibits, living history demonstrations, and special programming throughout the weekend. Saturday, September 5 will feature a Living History showcase on camp life, musket drills, and more. The evening will conclude with movie night under the lighthouse. On Sunday, September 6, the celebration culminates with the Fort George Block Party, featuring Southern barbecue, live music, local craft beverages, museum access, a live Battle of Fort George reenactment, and more.
