The Back Porch Rockers
July 4 – 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Waterfront Stage, Southport, NC
Celebrate Independence Day with a band that embodies the spirit of community and giving—The Back Porch Rockers. Hailing from Southport, this dynamic group has been rocking Southeastern North Carolina since 2016, performing a lively mix of Rock & Roll, Pop, Country, and Beach music, all with one unshakable mission: to support local charities and nonprofits, one show at a time.
Formed by a group of music-loving retirees, The Back Porch Rockers are more than just entertainers—they’re musical philanthropists. From day one, the band pledged to only perform for legitimate nonprofit events and private parties that raise money for charitable causes. Since then, they’ve helped raise an estimated $200,000 for organizations supporting everything from historic preservation and children’s services to animal rescues and senior care. Even their instruments, travel, and gear are funded entirely out of pocket—a true labor of love.
The band’s seven members—Steve Privott, Kurt Chismark, Martin Murphy, Dave Testa, Jim Irvine, Linda Harlow, and Randy Lewis—bring decades of experience, heart, and harmony to every performance. Whether sharing stages with legends in their youth or rediscovering music later in life, each member brings a unique story and a shared passion for playing with purpose. Their chemistry is electric, their sound is tight, and their presence on stage is nothing short of infectious.
Catch The Back Porch Rockers on July 4 at the Southport Waterfront Stage. Dance, sing, and celebrate with a band whose music makes a difference—every note played with joy, every chord strummed for a cause.
